About the Role:

Hims & Hers is seeking a VP, International Controller to lead and scale our global accounting operations as we expand internationally. This role will own the end-to-end international accounting function, including close, reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls, and will partner cross-functionally to support global growth.

You Will:
  • Lead all aspects of international accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple foreign entities and jurisdictions, adhering to strict close schedule
  • Ensure compliance closed financial results with US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and international regulatory frameworks
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance analyses for international entities
  • Build and maintain strong internal controls (SOX) and ensure audit/ SOX readiness across international operations
  • Oversee completion of all Blackline assigned tasks for international entities, including all reconciliations and journal entries and supervise the work performed by other team members to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
  • Partner with Tax, Legal, and Business Development to support global expansion, entity structuring, and cross-border transactions
  • Manage external audits, statutory filings, and relationships with international auditors and advisors; demonstrate advanced critical thinking by resolving audit issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Design and implement scalable accounting processes, systems, and policies to support global growth
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and speed of reporting
  • Collaborate with various international local teams and cross-functional departments on accruals and other monthly close areas.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing international accounting team
  • Help implement and maintain appropriate accounting policies and training documents
  • Support M&A activity, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration for international targets
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements; suggest and implement improvements to scale and automate manual procedures and computations.
  • Restructure responsibilities and simplify processes to maximize month-end close tasks performed by the offshore accounting function.


You Have:
  • 15+ years of experience in the accounting profession required, with a minimum of 5 years in public accounting required
  • CPA or international equivalent required
  • Public company experience required
  • SOX experience required
  • BA or BS degree from top ranking university in accounting, business administration or economics required
  • Top-level critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, and derive accounting conclusions and present results to the team
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a team player, and ability to work well in both In-Person & Remote work environments
