JOB DESCRIPTION

What You'll Do

You will lead and direct the North American HR and Labor Relations teams, partnering with corporate functional leaders to execute business strategy and manage day-to-day human resources needs. You will oversee business partnership, employee relations, and labor relations functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with employment laws. Travel may be required for business-related purposes.

Essential Functions

  • Lead and direct North American HR and Labor Relations teams to support business objectives.
  • Partner with corporate leaders to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage daily HR operations and collaborate with HR Center of Excellence teams to address business needs.
  • Oversee business partnership initiatives including talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Resolve employee relations issues and conduct confidential investigations in compliance with employment laws.
  • Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and support labor relations activities including grievance resolution and negotiations.
  • Prepare and recommend employment processes, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance and support business objectives.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • Minimum 15 years of experience required in Human Resources within large complex organizations, including at least 5 years leading a broad distributed team and 5 years of labor relations experience with collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and platforms such as MS Outlook and Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, labor relations, performance management, organizational development, and change management.
  • Proven ability to analyze metrics and data to identify and resolve issues.

What Could Set You Apart

  • Master's or other advanced degree preferred.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and tools such as SuccessFactors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced matrix organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with individuals at various levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Ability to influence and engage business partners and gain support for solutions to talent challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to translate strategic concepts into actionable plans and implement them successfully.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
  • Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
