Full Job Description
About the role

We're looking for a senior finance leader to own and evolve Rewind's full finance function spanning accounting, financial planning, and controller responsibilities. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: you'll bring a strong accounting foundation, step confidently into hands-on operational work when needed, and guide the business with clear, data-driven insight.

This is a hands on builder role. You'll shape the broader finance strategy, while also performing core Accounting and Controller responsibilities. You should expect to roll up your sleeves and operate as both a leader and an individual contributor, handling everything from Board reporting, to financial modelling, to processing payroll and driving month end close. You'll partner closely with the executive team, particularly the CEO and CRO to ensure Rewind scales with financial clarity, discipline, and confidence.

What you'll do

Financial leadership & strategy
  • Own company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and performance tracking, including SaaS metrics and operating models
  • Partner with leadership to guide investment decisions, pricing strategy, and growth planning
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to executives, board members, and investors
  • Support strategic finance work including scenario planning and executive-level analysis.

Accounting, close operations & compliance
  • Oversee and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Maintain high-quality financial reporting and variance analysis to support decision-making
  • Step into hands-on accounting work where needed, ensuring no gaps in execution as the team scales
  • Own all core accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, treasury, and general ledger management
  • Lead audits, tax filings, and compliance across jurisdictions, including SR&ED and international subsidiaries
  • Manage equity administration (e.g., Carta), ensuring accurate cap table and regulatory compliance

Controls, governance & infrastructure
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial processes to safeguard company assets and support scale
  • Oversee vendor relationships, banking, insurance programs, and external partners (auditors, consultants)
  • Build and evolve systems, tooling, and workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
  • Oversee the stock option/equity program and management of the cap table.

Leverage Agentic AI
  • Use Agentic AI to automate key processes such as: accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial package preparation

Team leadership & development
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, setting a high bar for accountability and performance
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration

What you'll bring
  • Experience in a venture-backed or scaling SaaS company
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) with 10+ years of progressive experience across accounting and finance
  • Early-career foundation in accounting (e.g., audit, controllership) with a transition into broader finance leadership
  • Experience owning both accounting operations and FP&A in a high-growth SaaS or tech environment
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue recognition, and financial best practices
  • Proficiency using AI tools to streamline and enhance financial modelling, reporting and workflows
  • Comfort operating as a hands-on leader, including stepping into payroll, reporting, or operational tasks when needed
  • Proven ability to build, improve, and scale financial processes and systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights
  • Experience with modern finance tools (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Stripe, Carta, QuickBooks Online)
Nice to have
  • Exposure to international finance operations and multi-entity structures
  • Experience managing or implementing financial systems and automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with BI or dashboarding tools (e.g., Metabase, Looker, Tableau)
  • Experience supporting board reporting and investor relations

Compensation Philosophy
The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

If your expectations are above this range, it may be because your experience aligns with a more senior level. In some cases, we're open to hiring at a higher level for the right person and are committed to paying competitively and fairly.

If your experience is closer to an earlier career stage, we may still consider your application. In that case, we would evaluate the role at a different level within our levelling framework, which would correspond to a salary below the range shown.
