VP, Director of Project Management Summary The VP, Director of Project Management is a senior operational leader responsible for shaping and managing the agency's Project Management discipline. This role oversees a team of program and project managers who lead integrated advertising, digital, and content initiatives across multiple clients. The VP ensures operational excellence, drives process innovation, and partners with executive leadership to support agency growth, efficiency, and delivery quality. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands-on operational management, excels at navigating complex, multi-channel workstreams, and is a champion of collaboration and clarity across the agency. Responsibilities Project & Portfolio Oversight - Oversee the delivery of large-scale, integrated marketing and advertising programs across multiple accounts - Provide senior-level oversight on budgets, scopes of work, timelines, and resource plans - Act as an escalation point for project-level challenges and navigate complex stakeholder environments - Maintain oversight of operational KPIs including utilization, profitability, delivery consistency, and capacity Operational Excellence & Process Development - Build, refine, and implement project management frameworks, workflows, and tools that streamline project delivery - Partner with Operations, Finance, and Discipline Leads to improve efficiency, documentation practices, and quality assurance - Ensure consistent project scoping, risk management, change control, and reporting standards - Lead initiatives to optimize cross-functional collaboration and reduce operational friction Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration - Collaborate closely with Account, Creative, Strategy, Production, Media, and Technology leadership to support seamless, integrated delivery - Partner with Client Leadership to ensure client expectations are aligned with project delivery and team capacity - Support executive leadership in operational planning, forecasting, and agency-wide initiatives Client Engagement (as needed) - Serve as a senior delivery leader during key client meetings, program reviews, and strategic discussions - Help develop delivery approaches for new business pitches, including timelines, scopes, staffing, and operational strategy - Build trust with clients by reinforcing the agency's delivery rigor and operational leadership Leadership & People Management - Lead, coach, and develop the project management department, including Directors, Senior PMs, PMs, and Coordinators - Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement - Conduct staffing planning, talent assessments, recruitment, and performance evaluations - Provide mentorship and thought leadership to elevate PM methodologies across the agency Expectations - Embody the core values: Wonder, Truth, and Unity - Present a professional and positive image of Wedgewood both internally and externally - Act as an advocate of your team/department; make suggestions/decisions with their best interest in mind - Provide leadership within their team/department - Proactively provide suggestions to team/department leadership that could positively influence daily functions - Demonstrate the Agency's vision: transform healthcare through honesty, integrity, and authenticity - Train and develop talent within your team/department - Ensure agency processes and policies are being followed - be sure to demonstrate them yourself - Motivate direct reports, and act as a mentor to those within your team/department - Understand the fiscal responsibility their role has to the team/department and agency - Understand when it is appropriate to make decisions independently and when to escalate issues/decisions to manager Qualifications - 10-15+ years of project, program, or operations management experience within an advertising, creative, or digital agency - Proven success leading and scaling PM teams in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment - Strong understanding of end-to-end agency workflows including creative development, production, digital, social, experiential, and integrated campaigns - Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills - Highly skilled in resource planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk mitigation - Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Advantage)
