Role Purpose: Brio is seeking a [Vice President] to lead the Data and Systems pillar within the Portfolio Strategy Group (PSG), reporting to the head of the group. This individual will help to drive the group's data infrastructure - ensuring pipelines, tooling, and governance are scalable, reliable, and standardized across all funds and capital sources.
The ideal candidate combines deep CRE investment experience with hands-on technical expertise and is equally comfortable designing a data architecture and engaging with investment stakeholders on their data needs.
What you will do:- Own and evolve the data infrastructure, including data pipelines, platform integrations, and governance frameworks across all funds and capital sources
- Design and maintain scalable data architecture (e.g. data lakes, warehouses) supporting investor reporting, fund analytics, and internal workflows
- Implement and manage asset management platforms and proprietary internal / external data products; drive automation initiatives that reduce manual burden across the investment team
- Partner closely with other PSG pillars to ensure data quality, accessibility, and consistency underpin all downstream outputs
- Lead the Dallas and India pod members within the Data and Systems pillar
- Set functional standards for data management firm-wide; ensure infrastructure scales efficiently as new funds and products are launched or dissolved
What you should have:- 8+ years of experience spanning CRE investment management and data / technology functions at an institutional platform (e.g. investment bank, alternative asset manager, or REIT)
- Direct experience with CRE debt strategies (loan asset management, NPL/PL, CMBS)
- Hands-on technical proficiency: SQL, Python, ETL pipelines, and BI tools (Power BI or Tableau); experience with API integrations and cloud-based automation
- Proven ability to build and scale data infrastructure in support of investment reporting and decision-making
- Experience managing cross-functional or offshore teams a plus
- Strong communicator capable of bridging technical and investment stakeholder needs
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFA a plus
