WHAT DOES A VP, BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY & INTEGRATION DO?

The VP, Business Technology Strategy & Integration is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and orchestration of business technology initiatives across a key client account.

Serving as the accountable leader for business technology strategy and execution, this role provides vision, solution leadership, and cross-functional oversight-aligning business priorities, technology capabilities, data integrations, and delivery teams to drive informed, proactive decision-making, reduce organizational friction, and enable scalable execution. Positioned directly within the Agency team, this role ensures seamless integration with brand and experience strategy, and client service, while maintaining a strong governance bridge to EVERSANA's broader Technology, Enterprise Data, and Solutions Delivery teams.

Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

Technology Strategy & Business Integration Leadership
  • Lead Business Technology Strategy: Serve as the strategic leader responsible for aligning commercial business objectives, agency strategy, and overall technology direction in collaboration with client lead. Translate brand and commercial priorities into clear technology strategies, capability plans, investment recommendations, and long-term maturity roadmaps that enable scalable business outcomes.
  • Shape the Technology Vision: Provide visionary leadership for the evolution of business technology capabilities across the portfolio. Anticipate future business needs, emerging platforms, and healthcare industry trends to proactively guide capability investments and digital innovation.
  • Own Strategic Technology Oversight: Maintain enterprise-level visibility across technology capabilities, integration strategies, platform dependencies, constraints, and roadmaps. Provide governance and executive oversight to proactively identify strategic risks, technical friction, and capability gaps.
  • Drive Executive Alignment: Partner closely with client leadership (e.g., client commercial/marketing stakeholders) and agency leads to maintain and evolve a unified technology strategy aligned with omnichannel and business goals.

Strategic Leadership & Technology Governance
  • Translate Strategy into Technology Direction: Serve as the primary strategic bridge between business objectives and technical execution, defining the vision, guiding principles, and functional direction that enable delivery teams to succeed.
  • Lead Solution Strategy: Provide consultative leadership on marketing technology approaches, validating business needs against enterprise platform capabilities (e.g., SFMC, Salesforce Sales/Service Cloud, OneTrust, Veeva, Web/CMS, CDP/Data Cloud).
  • Guide Enterprise Integration: Establish and oversee business technology and data integration strategies to ensure connected, scalable, and compliant solutions across brand touchpoints (HCP and Patient).
  • Govern Technology Decisions: Oversee technology planning, identify cross-functional dependencies early, and ensure proposed solution architectures align with enterprise standards, compliance regulations, and future-state capability roadmaps.

Business Technology Leadership & Enablement
  • Own the Business Technology Roadmap: Partner with EVERSANA Intouch leadership and client marketing leads to prioritize and evolve the business maturity roadmap, ensuring investments address both immediate tactical needs and long-term capability growth.
  • Serve as the Technology Authority: Act as the organization's trusted advisor and authoritative voice on technology capabilities, platform constraints, integration feasibility, and digital activation opportunities.
  • Enable Informed Decision-Making: Guide business leaders, account teams, and client stakeholders on implementation implications, resource trade-offs, and technical considerations to improve planning and budget allocations.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Synergy: Facilitate executive decision-making across multidisciplinary teams-including Account, PMO, Experience Strategy (XS), Media, Analytics, Creative, and Technology Delivery.

Execution Oversight & Operational Excellence
  • Provide Execution Oversight: Maintain strategic oversight throughout project lifecycles to ensure technical implementations remain strictly aligned with approved solution designs, business goals, and quality standards.
  • Own Operational Governance: Establish and continuously evolve governance frameworks, operating models (including agency), and quality standards that drive consistency, accountability, and scalability across all digital initiatives.
  • Lead Operational Readiness: Own the strategy and governance for operational documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), implementation playbooks, rollout frameworks, and governance charters.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion ongoing optimization of technology operating models and cross-functional ways of working to reduce organizational friction, improve delivery velocity, and strengthen technical execution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
