Role -VMware EngineerLocation - Baltimore, MD/ Philadelphia, PA(Hybrid)Job Description:Must Have:- ~3-5+ years' experience in VMware role with certification
- Experience in managing and maintaining data centers and server hardware.
- Technical skills to work with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
Key Responsibilities:- Design, install, and maintain the VMware virtual infrastructure
- Manage and troubleshoot virtual environments to ensure high availability
- Ensure system security using industry-accepted best practices
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and maintenance to ensure efficient system utilization
- Provide technical support and guidance to users
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends
- Contribute to and maintain system standards and documentation
Key Qualifications:- Proven work experience as a VMware Engineer or similar role in system administration
- Experience with VMware ESX/ESXi, vSphere, vSAN, and VMware Cloud
- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and storage area networks
- Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and VLANs
- Experience with disaster recovery, backup, and restore protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
Required VMware Engineer Qualifications and SkillsA VMware Engineer must possess a range of technical skills, software expertise and understanding of the IT industry, such as:
- Proficiency in VMware ESX, vSphere, and related virtualization technologies and platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies.
- Experience in managing and maintaining data centers and server hardware.
- Technical skills to work with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and procedures, including backup and restore operations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Problem-solving skills for identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues.
- Attention to detail for managing complex systems and ensuring data integrity.
- Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation of tasks
