WHAT WILL YOU DO?As a Field Inspector with the Construction Testing and Inspection team, your primary role will cover field visual inspections of structural steel in compliance with contract drawings, governing CSA standards, and Ontario Building Code. Additionally, you will assist with field inspections of building envelope including but not limited to roofing systems, exterior insulation finishing systems, air/vapour barriers.
JOB DUTIES- Conduct visual inspections of structural steel in compliance with CSA S16
- Conduct visual welding inspection in compliance with CSA W47.1/59, W178.2
- Conduct Site and Shop verifications of design criteria
- Conduct onsite inspections of structural steel, steel deck, load bearing metal studs, and other miscellaneous metal fabrication to confirm that all steel connections meet specifications
- Inspections of various process welding applications including dimensional Inspection, prep and fit-up, in-progress, and final quality verification to CSA W59
- Conduct roof inspections and condition surveys
- Conduct on-site inspections of moisture barriers, water proofing, fireproofing, air barrier, rain screen, cladding, window and curtain-wall installation
- Building envelope assessments
- Complete corporate formatted digital inspection reports for review by the senior team
- Observe and follow all corporate health and safety requirements,
- Cooperate with all other disciplines on the project; working closely with the project team.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Travel and overtime as required.
- Weekend and holiday work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS- CSA W178.1 CWB Level I or II with endorsement in CSA W47.1/59
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with structural steel inspections, welding inspections, roofing inspections, building envelope inspections.
- Ability to achieve reliability or secret level status through government security clearance process required.
- Observe and follow all corporate health and safety requirements,
- Cooperate with all other disciplines on the project; working closely with project team.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
