Job Title: Virtual Physician - Primary Care Sports Medicine Specialist (Full-Time)Note: Must live in Vermont for at least 6 months in the calendar yearOverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated, board-certified (or board-eligible) Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician to join our expanding remote care team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, evidence-based musculoskeletal and sports medicine care to a broad range of patients across the United States-all from the convenience of your home office. You will be a core member of our virtual clinical staff, collaborating with PTs, orthopedic surgeons, and health coaches in a mission-driven, technology-enabled environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive virtual evaluations for sports medicine and general musculoskeletal complaints
- Diagnose, manage, and create treatment plans for a wide array of injuries and conditions, including acute and overuse sports injuries, joint pain, and movement disorders
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic imaging or labs as clinically indicated
- Develop and oversee evidence-based, patient-specific treatment plans, including activity modification, rehabilitation, and return-to-play guidance
- Educate and empower patients on injury prevention, performance optimization, and long-term health strategies
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, collaborating closely with PTs, orthopedic surgeons, and health coaches
- Identify red flags and coordinate timely escalation to higher levels of care as appropriate
- Actively contribute in clinical protocol development and telemedicine best practices initiatives
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely electronic health records
- Participate in regular team meetings and continuous learning sessions
Who You Are- Board-certified (or eligible) in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Pediatrics with fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine
- Passionate about sports medicine, musculoskeletal health, and innovative care models
- Experienced in remote/telemedicine care (preferred but not required)
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfortable leveraging digital health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Committed to collaborative, multidisciplinary care and continuous professional development
- Adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced startup environment
QualificationsRequired:- MD/DO degree with active, unrestricted medical license in at least one US state
- Board certified or board eligible in Primary Care Sports Medicine (FM/IM/EM/Peds routes all welcomed)
- Willingness to pursue additional state licenses as needed
- At least 2 years clinical experience (fellowship may count)
- Reliable high-speed internet and professional remote workspace
Preferred:- Prior telemedicine or virtual care experience
- Additional state licensure (especially in MI, WI, FL, GA, PA, MN, IA, OH, MA)
- Experience with digital health, MSK care delivery, and/or value-based care initiatives
