Why this role is important?

We are hiring a Virtual Care Quality & Risk Management Clinical Lead

Reporting to the Director, Virtual Care, the Clinical NP Lead will play a pivotal role in safeguarding clinical quality and risk management as we advance digitally enabled healthcare.

The Virtual Care Quality & Risk Management Clinical Lead will design robust frameworks, implement evidence-based policies, and provide actionable insights that ensure our virtual health initiatives meet the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and compliance.

About You

You are an experienced healthcare professional with a demonstrated track record in clinical risk management, policy development, and quality assurance. You thrive in dynamic environments and excel at cultivating strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.

What You'll Do

Implement Clinical Risk Frameworks: Work with senior leadership to create and implement comprehensive clinical risk management policies tailored to digitally enabled healthcare programs.

Drive Quality Standards: Implement virtual care quality management framework, and maintaining compliance with evidence-based guidelines and our Enterprise Quality Framework across broad virtual care services.

Evidence Appraisal: Conduct rigorous appraisal of clinical trial data and engagement with front line clinicians and subject matter experts to synthesize findings from multiple sources to inform virtual care standards of care.

Operational Leadership: Lead small multidisciplinary teams both virtually and in person to implement new clinical protocols and engage in change management to align to standards of care.

Project Management: Guide day-to-day coordination of deliverables; resolve quality and risk issues as they arise.

Report Generation: Produce clear, concise reports and briefing materials for senior leadership and cross-functional teams on clinical quality and clinical outcomes.

Stakeholder Communication: Articulate main points effectively to technical, clinical, executive, and external audiences; facilitate meetings to drive consensus on priorities.

Regulatory Awareness: Monitor developments in legal/regulatory frameworks relevant to digital clinical applications.

Advanced Clinical Practice (Virtual): Provide comprehensive, client-centered virtual care, including assessing, diagnosing, treating, and following up with patients for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. This involves conducting virtual video/telephone visits, ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications within scope of practice, and managing cases across various disease states.

What You'll Need

University degree with a concentration in Nursing, Certificate of Nurse Practitioner (PhD preferred), active clinical licence in Canada as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Alternatively, a Registered Nurse (RN) with an active Canadian nursing licence is also preferred, particularly candidates with a Master of Health Administration or or Master of Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent leadership experience in healthcare quality, risk, and clinical operations.

7+ years' experience in healthcare sector with proven expertise in clinical risk management and quality assurance

Demonstrated excellence applying evidence-based methodologies; deep understanding of research rigor (clinical trial appraisal, evidence hierarchy & synthesis)

Experience leading small teams of varied clinical backgrounds; budget oversight; project management leadership

Superior oral/written communication skills; expert PowerPoint abilities

Ability to develop business cases/reports with accompanying analytic models

Strong problem-solving skills; ability to proactively manage deliverables in fast-paced environments

Knowledge of Canadian healthcare regulatory frameworks/ecosystem

Well-developed interpersonal skills; capacity to cultivate relationships at all levels

Nice to Have:

Previous experience in virtual care and quality improvement management

Prior involvement in digitally-enabled healthcare or digital health innovation
