Position: Vice - Principal

Location: Frontier Mosakahiken School

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Frontier Mosakahiken School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 415 students. The school is located in Moose Lake which is 100 km east of The Pas, Manitoba (a full-service community) and is accessible by road. This lakeside community's natural beauty provides for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education degree and Valid Manitoba Teacher's Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Master's degree in education/administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
  • At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administration experience
  • Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction
  • Extensive knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life and experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology
  • Strong instructional leader with the ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement
  • Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
  • Previous success with the development and implementation of short- and long-term school-based plans
  • Experience leading innovative and creative program delivery for students
  • Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language would be preferred
