Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential life sciences and healthcare markets for acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop strategic frameworks for assessing and prioritizing acquisition targets.
  • Build relationships with high-level executives of potential acquisition companies.
  • Critically evaluate acquisitions and gain support from Danaher's Executive Team.
  • Partner with Corporate Development to successfully execute acquisition deals.
  • Provide strategic insights on how executive decisions affect company reputation and market value.
  • Act as a contributor to overall business strategy, identifying value drivers in markets.

Full Job Description
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Identify life sciences and healthcare markets with attractive fundamentals, material acquisition targets, and the ability for the Danaher Business System to create value.
• Develop and apply strategic frameworks to assess and prioritize specific acquisition targets through proprietary primary market work.
• Build a funnel of potential acquisition targets, cultivating relationships with CEOs, Board Members, and Senior Executives of companies within prioritized markets.
• Critically evaluate potential acquisitions, building conviction among the Danaher's Executive Team.
• Partner with Danaher's Corporate Development team to successfully execute deals including acquisition diligence.
• Serve as a trusted contributor to business strategy, who can help assess the impact of executive decisions on the company's reputation, market value, and overall business success

The essential requirements of the job include
• 15+ years assessing/valuating markets, substantial acquisition diligence experience, M&A deal execution, and integration.
• Domain experience in Life Sciences/Healthcare industries, such as Life Science Tools, Bioprocessing, Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Healthcare IT, Contract Research, etc.
• MBA from top tier program or PhD with outstanding academic credentials.
• Experience at a top tier strategy consulting firm is preferred, with five or more years subsequently servicing in line management roles a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Highly collaborative, teamwork oriented, low ego working style, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to quickly build and maintain trust with business leaders.
• Quickly grasps key business drivers and how to unlock value in existing markets or develop new/adjacent ones
• Outstanding gravitas, executive presence and communications skills, including presenting to, advising and educating executive leadership and boards of directors
• Must be able to convey complicated topics and issues in a straight forward and concise manner, and be able to tailor communication style to the audience
