Description

The VP of Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of holistic category strategies and advanced sourcing for new product development. The individual will play a heavy role in developing and executing cross-functional strategies in tandem with engineering, marketing, product management, and manufacturing. This position is responsible for building a customer-focused, service-oriented team and fostering a motivating environment through their leadership skills. This position will involve leading efforts on a global basis and interacting with multiple business units, geographies, and work cultures. This position will lead a team of worldwide commodity managers and strategic sourcing managers who are actively engaged with suppliers as well as internal engineering teams to deliver cost reduction plans and service demand expectations.

What you will do.

  • Develop long-term sourcing strategies and actionable steps to improve operational performance, while ensuring best purchasing value and competitive advantage through the purchasing of capital, direct and indirect materials, and services worldwide.


  • Oversee a regimented process to effectively plan and deliver cost reduction plans and initiatives


  • Establish a culture of continuously thinking of new and creative ideas to reduce costs, working with engineering and manufacturing teams to realize the savings


  • Deploy new data and tools to make more informed sourcing decisions across critical categories of our business


  • Develop business relationships with suppliers that enable long term optimized support of company requirements to reduce cost and improve service


  • Maintain business relationships with strategic suppliers for BUs and serves as an escalation point to resolve supplier performance issues


  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve methodologies and their application to assigned business processes while maintaining the long-term sustainability of these processes


  • Ensure the optimum Purchasing performance to achieve quality, cost, timing, environmental, safety, sustainability, and technology requirements in line with business objectives


  • Drive lead-time reduction and dual sourcing across the global supply chain, quality improvements, and working capital improvements


  • Sponsor the use of digital, automation, and advanced analytics to unlock new sources of value and insight within the team


  • Responsible for the E2E Purchasing processes (systems, policies, and processes, P2P)


  • Negotiation and support of vendor contracts, service level agreements, and performance measurement programs related to materials and manufacturing partners


Who you are and What you bring.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (EE or E&C) with 20+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, advanced sourcing, sourcing electronic components, manufacturing ops, and/or product management for new products


  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and working experience of Semiconductor components


  • Proven success driving change in cross-functional environments (engineering, marketing, product management, manufacturing)


  • Demonstrated balance of strategic and operational capacities, including global sourcing, supplier management, commodity risk management, supply assurance, etc.


  • Proven track record of forming win-win partnerships with suppliers, should bring both a strategic and 'hands on' mindset and a track record in change management.


  • Extensive global sourcing experience & strong negotiation skills, Contracting, pricing, supply chain/sourcing strategies


  • A globally minded leader has experience doing business across Europe, the Americas and Asia.


  • Highly analytical, process-driven, and results-oriented, with a bias for action.


  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively outside the sphere of direct influence, have strong leadership skills and be able to communicate clearly with a wide range of constituents in a highly matrix organization


  • Must possess demonstrated work experience to work with outsourced manufacturing suppliers and procurement teams to drive problem resolution, ECO implementation, quality processes, and effective source cost analysis


  • Demonstrated success in supplier management, cost reduction & inventory management


  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with associated procurement based technical knowledge


  • Strong personal computer application usage skills are required (Desktop office and ERP systems applications)


  • Must be able to work in an environment of short notice changes, and tolerate interruptions


  • Direct experience with Oracle ERP Business Systems and related procurement transactions desired

The base pay range for this position is $240,000 to $322,400 per year. This salary range may be modified in the future. The successful candidate starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, education or training, work location, and market conditions. This position is also eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
