Full Job Description
Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Vice President has operationalresponsibility for Radiology, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care Services, Pharmacy, Facilities, Security, Environmental Services, Linen, Transportation, BioMed, Food Services, Telecommunication and Hospitality. The VP shall also assist in the development and administrationof new programs and procedures with the goal of providing excellent services. Maintain quality in all departments based on established departmental policies and Regulatory Agencies Standards. Perform other dues as assigned.
  • FISCAL PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
    • Reviews annual operating budget and long range capital expenditures plans for allassociated operationaldepartments.
    • Ensures the conservativeuse of physical and financial assets.
    • Monitors financial performance and recommends needed action.
    • Maximizes operationalefficiency.
  • VENDOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
    • Negotiate agreements with suppliers/vendors and monitor for compliance.
    • Provides leadership and Manage agreements and supervise performance for contractedservices which include but not limited to Food Services, Environmental Services, Linen,Transportation, and any other further assigned contractual relationships.
    • Promotes the image of VMMC by representingthe organizationin thecivic and business community.
  • MANAGEMENT OF OPERATIONS
    • Coordinate/Manage the Environment of Care and serve as the Safety Officer.
    • Investigate problems with physicians, patients, nurses, staff, etc; reports same toAdministration when necessary.
    • Develops, recommends, and supervises the implementation of human resource policies, assuring the selectionand employment (and discharge when necessary) of personnelaccording to the approved standard of qualifications.
    • Provides for the proper delegationof authority and responsibility.
    • Recommends changes in organizationalarrangements which beer facilitate theachievement of organizational objectives.
    • Directs, counsels, and advises leaders in day-to-day operationalmanagement, andassures any differences that may arise are resolved.
    • Ensures that an adequate organizational structure is in place to accommodate effectiveoperations.
    • Ensures the recruitment and retentionof competent, appropriate staff at adequatestaffing levels.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration. - Preferred
  • Certified in Lean Principles - Preferred

Experience:

  • Five years of healthcare management experience
  • Acute care experiencestrongly preferred
