Vice President of Manufacturing- Reading, PAHours are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday through FridayThe Vice President of Manufacturing provides strategic and operational leadership across all production facilities of a global plastics manufacturing company serving industrial and medical markets. This executive ensures safe, compliant, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations, delivering products that meet strict regulatory standards and customer expectations.
Essential Responsibilities:- Set and execute global manufacturing strategy aligned to company growth
- Partner with executive leadership on innovation, capacity, and market expansion
- Lead transformation initiatives (automation, digitalization, process improvement)
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Oversee multi-site manufacturing operations and daily production activities
- Drive efficiency, throughput, and cost per unit improvements
- Implement lean manufacturing and operational excellence practices
- Align production with customer demand and supply chain capabilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements
- Maintain audit readiness, traceability, and manufacturing documentation
- Reduce scrap, rework, and non-conformance
- Champion workplace safety and environmental responsibility
- Manage budgets, capital planning, and cost control initiatives
- Track and improve key KPIs (yield, downtime, cost, on-time delivery)
- Lead, develop, and retain high-performing manufacturing teams
- Drive accountability, collaboration, and succession planning
- Implement advanced manufacturing technologies and automation
- Leverage ERP/manufacturing systems and data analytics to improve performance and visibility
Essential Skills:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred
- 12-15+ years of manufacturing leadership, preferably in plastics or medical device production
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and regulated manufacturing
- Experience leading multi-site operations and digital transformation initiatives
- Strong financial acumen, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Domestic and International travel is required.
