Senior Manager, National Accounts - Target

Role Objectives:

To achieve yearly and longer-term targets for the Moose Toys portfolio at Target.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of ten years' experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary qualification in a related field.
• Direct experience working with Target and their related systems.
• Exposure to additional retail majors, such as Walmart, preferred.
• Experience working within the toy industry and consumer marketing to children.

Responsibilities:

Account Leadership & Growth
  • Own the strategic growth, profitability, and long-term development of the Target business, delivering annual and multi-year revenue, market share, and profitability objectives while strengthening Moose's position as a preferred partner to Target.

• Lead the development and execution of customer growth strategies that maximize distribution, feature placement, promotional effectiveness, category expansion, and retail productivity across the Moose portfolio.

Strategy & Business Leadership

Customer Strategy
  • Develop and execute the annual and long-range strategic plan for the Target business.
  • Identify growth opportunities across brands, categories, channels, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Brand Management, Demand Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain to create integrated customer business plans.
  • Drive innovation and customer-specific solutions that create competitive advantage and strengthen retailer partnerships.
  • Utilize customer, category, and market insights to influence strategic decision making and investment priorities.

Commercial Leadership
  • Deliver annual revenue, profit, market share, and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to accelerate growth and improve profitability.
  • Lead negotiations regarding trading terms, promotional investments, pricing strategies, and annual business agreements.
  • Ensure customer investments generate measurable returns and support long-term growth objectives.


National Account Leadership

Executive Customer Relationships
  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships across Target, including merchandising leadership, DMMs, GMMs, and executive stakeholders.
  • Position Moose as a trusted strategic partner by providing category expertise, consumer insights, and business solutions.
  • Lead annual line reviews, strategic business reviews, joint business planning, and executive-level customer engagements.
  • Influence customer decisions through compelling business cases, data-driven recommendations, and collaborative partnership approaches.

Customer Development
  • Drive distribution expansion, feature opportunities, seasonal programs, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Develop action plans to address performance gaps and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive activity, category trends, and retailer priorities to proactively identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure exceptional execution across assortment, inventory, service levels, and retail readiness.


Financial Management & Forecasting

Financial Stewardship
  • Own customer P&L performance and ensure delivery of sales, margin, and profitability objectives.
  • Contribute to annual budget development and long-range planning processes.
  • Monitor promotional spending, investment effectiveness, and customer profitability.
  • Partner with Finance and Demand Planning to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.

Forecasting & Planning
  • Lead forecasting activities in alignment with US and global S&OP processes.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy and inventory alignment to support customer demand.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and performance assessments to identify risks and opportunities.


Cross Functional Leadership

Organizational Leadership
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally and champion customer priorities across the organization.
  • Align cross-functional teams around key customer initiatives and business objectives.
  • Lead resolution of complex business challenges affecting customer performance.
  • Foster collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams.

Category & Insights Leadership
  • Partner with Insights & Analytics team to leverage consumer, category, shopper, and retailer insights to influence customer strategy and identify growth opportunities.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision making, prioritize investments, and strengthen customer partnerships.


People Leadership

Talent Development
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing customer team.
  • Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and leadership that drives accountability and growth.
  • Identify organizational capability needs and recruit top talent where required.
  • Create a culture focused on performance, collaboration, customer centricity, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Moose culture and values across the team.

Work Hours

8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday

8:30am - 3:00pm, Friday

30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.

Plus, reasonable additional hours due to multiple time-zones.

Moose also provides flexible working options.

Travel

Approximately 20% domestic travel may be required.

Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and other office productivity machinery, may need to reach, stoop, kneel to access items
• Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
