Full Job Description
The Role.

Ascent is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Loan Servicing to oversee the servicing operations for our commercial real estate loan portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day loan servicing activities, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines. You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate with key stakeholders, provide borrowers with high quality service, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

The Work.
  • Oversee the servicing of commercial real estate loans, including monitoring loan performance, managing payments, and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Manage day-to-day operations such as payment processing, escrow management, investor reporting, and default management.
  • Review and approve loan advances, payments, payoffs, construction loan draw requests, inspection reports, and other loan servicing activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, borrowers, regulators, and service providers
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize operations and enhance customer experience.
  • Lead the loan servicing department, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to drive performance and achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as loan origination, underwriting, compliance, and asset management, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and update loan servicing practices in response to evolving federal, state, investor guidelines, as well as internal company policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities and oversee implementation of technological solutions that enhance servicing operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in commercial and mortgage loan servicing, implementing changes as needed.

Your Skills and Experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial mortgage loan servicing with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Expert level knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing and highly motivated teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, customers, and senior management.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency in loan servicing software and Microsoft Office suite.

The Pay.
  • Pay Range: $160,000 - $175,000 per year
  • Bonus: 25% per year


The Work Environment
  • This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home).
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
  • Some nights and weekends required.
