We9re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Java Full Stack Engineer to join our ETF Engineering team. This role is in New York City, NY.
In this role, you9ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable full-stack solutions that support ETF technology platforms and critical business workflows.
- Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, QA, infrastructure, and production support teams to deliver reliable technology outcomes.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives across Java, microservices, APIs, front-end applications, data integration, and DevOps delivery practices.
- Drive engineering quality through clean code, automated testing, code reviews, secure development practices, and disciplined release execution.
- Support production stability by troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, improving observability, and reducing operational risk.
- Help improve platform resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and performance through thoughtful design and continuous improvement.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and enhance software quality in a responsible manner.
- Communicate effectively with technology and business partners, provide clear updates, raise risks early, and contribute to successful project execution.
To be successful in this role, we9re seeking the following:
- Bachelor9s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5-9 years of experience.
- Drive the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale Java and Spring Boot applications, leveraging Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Batch, and related frameworks to build scalable, resilient, and maintainable platforms within regulated financial-services environments.
- Lead the development and governance of RESTful APIs and microservices architectures, utilizing Hibernate, JPA, OAuth2, and JWT-based security controls to support secure, high-volume business-critical applications and financial data workflows.
- Architect cloud-native, distributed systems with a focus on modular design, service discovery, fault tolerance, inter-service communication, operational resilience, and platform modernization, including Spring Cloud technologies such as Eureka, Config Server, and API Gateway.
- Drive engineering excellence through modern DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization practices utilizing Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated deployment pipelines to improve delivery velocity, platform reliability, and governance.
- Design and optimize transactional data platforms leveraging SQL Server and Oracle, ensuring performance, scalability, data integrity, enterprise controls, and operational stability across mission-critical workloads.
- Establish comprehensive quality engineering standards through Test-Driven Development (TDD), automated testing, functional validation, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies using frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
- Lead production support and operational excellence initiatives, including performance tuning, incident management, root cause analysis, system monitoring, observability, and proactive risk mitigation using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, partnering with business, product, QA, infrastructure, and support teams while influencing engineering standards, code quality, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage AI-assisted development technologies, including Claude, Windsurf, and other emerging engineering productivity tools, to accelerate software delivery, improve quality, and enhance troubleshooting and development effectiveness within established governance frameworks.

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee9s eligible dependents.
