Vice President Human Resources, Metro Denver

The Vice President, Human Resources for the Metro Denver Region is an executive role that provides strategic human capital leadership for UCHealth's largest and most complex region, supporting hospitals, ambulatory operations, and regional leadership teams while serving as a trusted advisor to regional executives, operational leaders, and physician leadership. This leader will drive initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, workforce engagement, leadership effectiveness, talent strategies, and operational performance, partnering across the enterprise to ensure Human Resources enables UCHealth's mission, strategic priorities, and commitment to world-class patient care.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President will help shape the region's workforce strategy, support transformational change, and foster an environment where employees are engaged, leaders are equipped, and teams are positioned to deliver exceptional outcomes for patients and communities. This position is onsite and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Vice President Human Resources, Metro Denver

The successful VP of Human Resources will be a strategic, trusted, and collaborative leader who can navigate complexity, build strong relationships, and translate workforce needs into practical solutions. Success in this role will require executive presence, sound judgment, operational discipline, change leadership, and a deep commitment to UCHealth's mission, values, and culture of exceptional patient care.

  • Partner with the Metro Denver Regional leadership team to align business priorities with workforce and talent strategies. Providing strategic HR advice to the executive team in the UCHealth Metro Denver Region.
  • Partners with leadership to create the desired workplace culture and an engaged and productive workforce.
  • Promote a culture of respect, accountability, inclusion, and psychological safety that supports organizational values and employee wellbeing
  • Ensure consistent application of employment policies, organizational values, and legal requirements across the organization
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR managers, directors, business partners, and specialists supporting hospitals, clinics, and corporate functions across the region.
  • Own regional workforce planning, including staffing strategy, succession planning, and labor cost management in partnership with finance and operations leaders.
  • Guide employee relations strategy, ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant handling of workplace investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution. Partners with CHRO to lead crisis response, executive escalations, and sensitive high-risk HR matters, including complex investigations, workplace risk, leader behavior concerns, employee safety issues, and matters with potential legal, operational, cultural, or reputational impact.
  • Partner with Talent Management and Organizational Development to strengthen leadership pipelines, engagement, and retention across the region, in addition to developing and executing proactive retention, staffing, and workforce stabilization strategies that address labor market pressures, workforce shortages, employee well-being, engagement, and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Provide HR leadership for organizational change and sensitive workforce communications, including leader preparation, stakeholder alignment, change adoption, restructuring impacts, and communication strategies that support trust, clarity, and operational continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law, as well as Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory requirements affecting the healthcare workforce.
  • Working with organizational development, lead change management for organizational restructuring, mergers, service line growth, and new facility openings within the region.
  • Analyze workforce metrics, engagement data, employee relations trends, and leader feedback to identify risks, and present insights and recommendations to regional and system leadership.
  • Collaborate with system HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Organizational Development) to ensure consistent policy application and program delivery.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, belonging, and employee wellbeing consistent with UCHealth's mission and values.
  • Represent the region in system-wide HR leadership initiatives and serve as a change agent for enterprise HR strategy.
  • Partner with regional HR peers to ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices.

  • Strong expertise in leadership development, employment law, labor relations, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Strong track record of building high-performing HR teams and advancing culture, engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.


Pay: $227,510 - $341,65 annual base pay. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
