VICE PRESIDENT HUMAN RESOURCES & SHEQ - SURFACE DIVISIONAs Vice President Human Resources & SHEQ, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR and SHEQ strategies and actions across the Surface Division, aligned with business needs and the division's growth strategy. You will contribute to the divisional strategy and translate business priorities into people, leadership, organizational, and SHEQ initiatives that enable sustainable business results.
You will lead and guide HR professionals across the division and support an agile, efficient, and high-performing organization with the right capabilities for today and the future. A key part of the role is to strengthen a safe and inclusive workplace where people feel that they belong, can grow, and are empowered to take ownership. You will also be responsible for the Payroll & Benefits Center in the USA and to ensure alignment of processes and policies between the different entities in the country.
Our Surface Division employs approximately +2,000 people across product companies and Customer Centers worldwide. As a member of the divisional management team, you will work with colleagues across continents and collaborate closely with leaders, functions, Product Companies, and Customer Centers.
This position is a key leadership role with a direct reporting line to the President Surface Division.
Key responsibilities- Contribute to the division's strategy and define and execute the people, leadership, and SHEQ agenda in line with business priorities.
- Build a strong global safety culture that supports an incident-free workplace and drives continuous improvement across SHEQ.
- Secure an agile, efficient, and high-performing organization where people flourish and deliver sustainable business results.
- Drive organizational design, workforce planning, and location strategy to ensure the right capabilities are available in the right places.
- Strengthen talent attraction, development, retention, succession, and leadership practices across the division.
- Develop upskilling and reskilling initiatives that support future competence needs and digital acceleration.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on organizational effectiveness, talent management, change, employee relations, and compliance.
- Take an active role in mergers and acquisitions, including HR due diligence and the integration of new companies.
- Provide leadership and support to product companies and Customer Centers, ensuring effective people management processes and cross-functional collaboration.
- Oversee the Payroll & Benefits Center in the USA and contribute to US compensation and benefits strategy, local compliance, and market attractiveness.
- Lead and develop a high-performing global HR and SHEQ organization and serve as a visible ambassador for Epiroc's values and ways of working.
- Admin responsibilities for CC USA, Canada, Mexico and Chile, the VP HR must inspire and guide our CCs to implementing HR and SHEQ strategies according to the Group guidelines.
Experience and requirements- Broad business experience, including 10+ years leading Human Resources and SHEQ functions to achieve tangible business results as part of a management team in a global organization of comparable size and complexity.
- Proven experience in leading changes, cultivating culture, and engaging with various organizational levels.
- Broad experience in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and HR technology.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate business needs into pragmatic HR solutions.
- Experience with HR aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration, is highly valued.
- Strong international mindset and experience, gained from living and working abroad or developing extensive international business relationships.
- University degree in disciplines related to Human Resources, Organizational Management, International Management, or similar fields.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in other international languages is advantageous.
