VICE PRESIDENT, High Temperature Composite Products

EL SEGUNDO, CA | FULL-TIME Onsite

THE ROLE

Cambium is seeking a Vice President, Thermal Protection Products, to help build our thermal protection materials and products business in support of solid rocket motor, hypersonics, and other high-temperature defense and aerospace programs. This role will build our thermal protection products business - taking materials research and product development into next-generation products for solid rocket motors, hypersonics, and high-temperature performance applications. You will build and execute a strategy that sets the commercial direction for one of Cambium's core capability areas. You will be customer focused driving strategic relationships that bring Cambium capabilities to market. This is a senior leadership position for someone who can operate equally well a technical environment, the program review, and the boardroom.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be the commercial lead for the development of thermal protection products - including ablatives, insulators, nozzle liners, and case bond systems - from concept through qualification and production.
• Partner with R&D to prioritize and resource Cambium thermal protection-related efforts.
• Build and own strategic relationships that advance Cambium's thermal protection products in appropriate markets.
• Build and execute the strategy that sets commercial direction for Cambium's solid rocket motor and hypersonics products
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for thermal protection product and inform government solicitations across solid rocket motor, hypersonics, and reentry applications.
• Partner with executive leadership to align thermal protection strategy with Cambium's broader advanced materials roadmap.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in thermal protection materials as engineer or scientist
• 5+ years of commercially relevant product expertise in thermal protection materials for solid rocket motors, ablatives, and hypersonics, specifically deep technical expertise in insulator and ablative materials, thermal protection system design, or high-temperature materials fabrication and processing.
• Experience leading the development and commercial transition of novel thermal protection products.
• Demonstrated success building coordinated, collaborative, and cohesive teamwork between commercial and technical teams
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively not just with your team but across the organization, as well as with customers, investors, and other stakeholders.
• Technical field Master's or PhD degree strongly preferred.
• U.S. citizenship required.

SALARY/HOURLY: $200,000 - $250,000 annually
