Purpose of the Position

This is an opportunity to lead and elevate the communications strategy for an organization that lives at the intersection of sport, hospitality, and human connection. Reporting to Chief Marketing Officer, the Vice President, Head of Communications will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated communications strategy for KemperSports, overseeing both internal and external communications. This executive will be responsible for elevating brand awareness across key stakeholder groups, strengthening the company's market presence, and ensuring a consistent, compelling narrative that reflects KemperSports' leadership across golf, sports, and hospitality.

The role will drive proactive engagement with business media, building and maintaining strong relationships to increase visibility and coverage of KemperSports. Additionally, the Vice President of Communications will guide the internal communications efforts for KemperSports to drive increased team member engagement across the organization.

The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, strategic approach, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership while translating business priorities into impactful communications that enhance reputation, support growth objectives, and reinforce KemperSports' position as an industry leader.

Experience and Professional Qualifications

Experience and professional qualifications required for the role include:
  • 10-15+ years of strong agency or corporate communications experience.
  • Deep expertise with communications in golf, sports, or hospitality industry.
  • Existing and strong relationships with key media contacts and business professionals in the golf, sports, or hospitality industry highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success securing media coverage in print, online and broadcast media.
  • Track record of developing and leading a high-performing communications team.
  • Social media knowledge, including the ability to customize and promote messaging across multiple social platforms.
  • Based in Northbrook, IL office. Ability to travel to various KemperSports properties and events, media trips, and industry gatherings.
