Full Job Description
Elma Electronic is seeking a Vice President, Engineering to join our executive leadership team and lead engineering strategy, execution, and innovation across Elma Americas. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineering executive who can balance technical vision, operational discipline, customer needs, and business performance.

The VP, Engineering will provide strategic leadership across hardware, mechanical, electrical, software, systems, and test engineering teams, while driving a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a multi-site engineering organization across multiple technical disciplines
  • Translate business strategy into engineering objectives, technology roadmaps, and resource plans
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, PMO, and Finance to align engineering priorities with customer and business needs
  • Establish a disciplined R&D and engineering portfolio management approach focused on high-value, market-relevant initiatives
  • Drive simplification of engineering processes, tools, and decision paths to improve speed, quality, and execution
  • Strengthen engineering resource planning, capacity management, and organizational structure
  • Support executive-level customer engagements, global strategy discussions, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including ISO, ITAR, and related requirements
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while identifying and developing key technical leadership talent

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, embedded computing, or ruggedized hardware strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex engineering programs and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis, and resource planning
  • Experience using data, metrics, digital tools, and KPIs to drive engineering performance and business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of engineering compliance requirements, including ISO, ITAR, and related standards
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
