Full Job Description
As a Vice President of the Energy team, a typical day might include:
Developing and implementing a marketing strategy to grow the commercial insurance book of business, developing new business opportunities
Managing an insurance book of business, ensuring clients have the necessary coverage in place, quoting and binding coverage, and cross and up-selling additional coverage where possible
Selling brokerage services to reach mutually agreed target revenue and activity quotas
Conducting regular review meetings with existing clients to service and identify opportunities for new prospecting activities
Maintaining a highly technical and service-oriented relationship with clients
Developing and maintaining relationships with Insurers to ensure clients receive favourable pricing and claims handling and to potentially develop new products
Keeping abreast of changes within the industry, attending seminars, reviewing industry publications, and liaising with others (underwriters, adjusters, etc.) within the industry
Attending client, insurer, and industry functions to build networks and identify new business streams
Referring business opportunities outside specialty area to other Vice Presidents
Coaching and mentoring support staff, on an on-going basis
Preparing and presenting annual business plans with projected sales goals, strategies, obstacles, and areas for growth
