Full Job Description
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is seeking a strategic and collaborative Vice President, Corporate Communications to lead communications for the studio's Scripted, Nonfiction and Kids businesses. The role will develop and execute strategies that support business priorities, elevate Sony Pictures Studios content and creative leadership, and strengthen the studio's reputation across the entertainment industry.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, the Vice President serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives and lead communications across executive positioning, media relations, reputation management and key business and content initiatives. Working closely with partners across SPT, the role will help shape industry conversations, identify opportunities to advance the business and ensure a clear, consistent narrative across internal and external audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Communications Leadership
  • Lead communications strategy for Sony Pictures Television Studio's Scripted, Nonfiction and Kids businesses, ensuring alignment with broader Sony Pictures Entertainment communications objectives.
  • Partner closely with business leadership and the SVP, Corporate Communications to advance business priorities, strengthen the company's reputation, and reinforce Sony Pictures Television's position as a leading independent television studio.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior executives, providing strategic counsel that anticipates challenges, identifies opportunities, and advances business objectives through thoughtful communications planning.
  • Establish communications priorities, translate business goals into action plans, and oversee execution across channels and stakeholders.
  • Ensure communications strategies align with broader business goals and support the long-term success of the Scripted and Nonfiction businesses.
Media Relations and Corporate Storytelling
  • Manage all aspects of trade and business media relations for Sony Pictures Television's Scripted, Nonfiction and Kids businesses.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key trade, business, and entertainment media outlets and reporters.
  • Develop and execute proactive communications campaigns that highlight business accomplishments, content successes, executive leadership, and strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure company priorities, accomplishments, and key business developments are reflected in announcements, media engagement, and executive messaging.
  • Drive impactful trade and business press coverage that strengthens visibility, reputation, and industry leadership.
  • Exercise strong editorial judgment regarding what is newsworthy and how best to position stories for maximum relevance and impact.
Executive Communications
  • Partner with SVP to drive executive communications strategies and support for senior Scripted, Nonfiction and Kids executives.
  • Develop executive messaging, speeches, talking points, media materials, presentations, and internal communications.
  • Secure and manage media interviews, speaking engagements, panel appearances, and industry opportunities that elevate executive visibility and support business priorities.
  • Provide media coaching and preparation for executives participating in interviews, public appearances, speaking engagements, and industry events.
  • Develop executive thought leadership initiatives that enhance the profile of Sony Pictures Television Studios and its leadership team.
Reputation and Issues Management
  • Anticipate and manage issues that may impact business objectives or company reputation.
  • Develop proactive and reactive communications strategies for sensitive business matters and emerging issues.
  • Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to protect and enhance Sony Pictures Television's reputation.
  • Monitor industry trends, media coverage, competitive activity, and emerging issues to identify risks and opportunities.
Industry and Events
  • Support senior executives during premieres, press tours, industry conferences, awards campaigns, upfronts, and other high-profile industry engagements.
  • Represent Sony Pictures Television Studios with media, partners, and industry organizations as appropriate.
  • Lead communications support for major business announcements, corporate initiatives, and strategic events.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive corporate communications, media relations, public relations, or related communications experience, preferably within the entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of the television, entertainment, media, and streaming industries.
  • Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies that influence business outcomes and support complex organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior executives and influence business outcomes through strategic counsel.
  • Established relationships with key trade, business, and entertainment media.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex business issues into clear and compelling communications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-profile initiatives simultaneously while effectively prioritizing competing business needs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience leading executive communications, media relations, reputation management, and thought leadership initiatives.


The anticipated base salary for this position is $202,400-$245,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
