Full Job Description
Position Description We are seeking an experienced Alternatives Account Manager to help drive the continued growth of PIMCO’s U.S. Global Wealth Management (GWM) alternatives business.  This role sits at the intersection of relationship management, platform distribution, and business development, with responsibility for deepening relationships and expanding alternatives adoption across some of the industry's most influential wealth platforms. The successful candidate will serve as a relationship lead for a portfolio of key platform partners across major intermediaries, including wirehouses and private banks.  Key contacts include home office research and due diligence teams, product management, distribution, originations, and operations professionals.  The Alternatives Account Manager will identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships, shape go-to-market strategies, support product launches and platform onboarding efforts, and help position PIMCO as a preferred alternatives partner.   The role requires a strong understanding of the wealth management ecosystem, alternative investment structures, and platform decision-making processes.  As a subject matter expert, the candidate will work closely with senior leaders across partner firms and collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders, including US GWM client-facing teams, Portfolio Management, Product Strategy, Legal, Operations, Marketing, and Alternatives teams to execute growth initiatives.  The position requires deep knowledge of the intermediary landscape, including how wirehouses, private banks, and other wealth platforms evaluate, onboard, and distribute alternative investment solutions. Responsibilities span platform relationship management, business development, contract negotiation, due diligence oversight, product onboarding, distribution strategy, pipeline management, partner and investor relations, and the coordination of targeted campaigns, events, and conferences.  Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deepen strategic platform relationships, expand product approvals and distribution opportunities, accelerate fundraising across alternative investment vehicles, and position PIMCO as a preferred alternatives partner among leading wealth management firms, all while effectively navigating complex organizations, influencing key decision-makers, and coordinating resources across the firm to deliver results. Product coverage includes LP drawdown and evergreen structures, semi-liquid alternatives including interval funds, hedge funds, private credit strategies, asset-based lending, tax-efficient solutions, and real estate offerings.  Key Relationships
  • External Key Accounts: Build and maintain relationships with major intermediaries, including wirehouses and private banks Key contacts include research and diligence professionals, product management teams, business stakeholders, and operations partners.
  • PIMCO Investment Professionals: Engage with Account Managers in US GWM Strategic Accounts, US GWM Alternatives Specialists, US GWM Field and Internal Sales teams, Alternatives Product Strategists, and Portfolio Managers.
  • Other PIMCO Professionals: Collaborate effectively with teams across Legal & Compliance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment and support for business initiatives.
Responsibilities The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Drive growth across key platform partners by identifying opportunities to expand product adoption, deepen strategic relationships, and increase alternatives distribution.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of PIMCO’s alternative products to effectively address inquiries from clients and prospects.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships across key intermediary partners, including wirehouses and private banks, to support business development and alternatives distribution efforts. 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, addressing requests with urgency while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.   Partner closely with Product Strategy Group, Alternatives Finance, Relationship Managers, and Legal & Compliance, to facilitate information sharing and timely responses to client inquiries.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the wealth management channel, including key industry participants, platform structures, decision-making processes, market trends, and competitive dynamics.  Attend industry conferences and events as appropriate.
  • Utilize advanced tools such as Cowork, Copilot, Excel (including spreadsheets and macros), CRM systems, and external databases to support business management, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze and present data in a compelling manner using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ensure the highest level of compliance with all industry standards, client firm requirements, and PIMCO policies, including adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Support PIMCO Business Objectives
  • Translate platform feedback, product demand, sales trends, client satisfaction insights, and market trends into actionable recommendations for Product Strategy, Portfolio Management, and senior leadership to inform product development, positioning, and commercialization efforts.
  • Contribute beyond the core responsibilities of the role and foster a highly collaborative, team-oriented culture. 
  • Represent PIMCO as needed at national, regional, and local conferences and training events.
  • Fully embrace and seek professional development and educational opportunities sponsored by PIMCO.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; CFA or CAIA, and/or an MBA are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the alternatives, credit, or real estate markets required.  Ideal candidates will demonstrate a robust knowledge of alternative investment structures and strategies. 
  • Experience covering alternatives focused home office relationships within the wealth management channel.
  • Existing relationships with wirehouses, private banks, and other platform partners are a plus. 
  • Possession of FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of employment commencement.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results through close collaboration with Account Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Strategists, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage key partners and clearly articulate PIMCO’s capabilities, investment strategies, and technical product information. Exceptional client engagement skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, consistently achieving high levels of client satisfaction while building and deepening strong, lasting relationships through a strong commitment to client service and excellence.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 205,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
