What You'll Be Doing
The Venture Banking Credit Risk Officer is responsible for the overall application and effectiveness of the Bank's credit policy and procedures. This position will work directly with senior management and the lending departments to facilitate the underwriting and origination of new loans, adjudication of credit requests, monitoring of the Bank's loan portfolio credit quality, and the supervising and training of the Bank's credit analysts.
What We're Looking For
- Understand and apply the Bank's established credit practices, policies and procedures to support the Bank's risk appetite.
- Identify and assess risks associated with each credit request for new and existing clients.
- Review structures and make decisions and recommendations on complex credit requests.
- Collaborate with lenders and the credit team to balance risk and profitability.
- Mentor and assist in the development of credit analysts and lenders.
- Monitor the Loan Policy to apply and adapt it to state of the market and bank’s risk tolerance.
- Assist the Chief Credit Officer with special projects and designated credits based upon subject matter expertise.
- Serve as a member of Loan Committee as assigned by the Board of Directors and senior bank management.
- Manage the aggregate risk in the Bank's loan portfolio.
What You'll Bring

- Advanced knowledge of the loan market and various industry regulations.
- Effectively communicate with bank executive management, lenders and staff, as well as firm investment bankers and equity research analysts.
- Strong team leadership skills to acquire, coach, develop, and retain talent.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum Required: 12+ years' of experience in venture credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management.

Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
