Hiring Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/yr.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Evaluate vendor logistical and performance capabilities, establish vendor monitoring and tracking processes, and assess vendor performance using a variety of vendor management strategies (e.g., service level agreements, operational audits, surveys, etc.) to ensure continuous improvement.
- Evaluate vendor feedback on agency acquisitions, utilize an evaluation tool, and monitor marketplace interest in agency requirements.
- Monitor agency satisfaction with vendor goods and services. Liaison with the agency to understand needs, recruit vendors, and handle escalated performance claims.
- Leverage the agency's spend plans to match agencies with vendors. Serve as project manager and host supplier events, including industry days, vendor workshops, and annual procurement expo
- Source vendors through targeted marketing of solicitations to increase the number of bids per solicitation.
- Conducts vendor onboarding and provide timely responses to general vendor requests where appropriate, including new vendors.
- Our top candidate will be a leader experienced in developing and implementing a vendor engagement and outreach program and increasing supplier diversity.
Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma/GED, 4 years of experience as a vendor relations coordinator or a position with comparable experience.
Preferences:- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Public Administration, or related field
- 4-5 years of progressively responsible vendor relations experience with knowledge of vendor relations best practices.
- Knowledge of the current local business community as it pertains to small business economic development.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong networking and salesperson skills
- Experience and working knowledge supporting supplier diversity programs
- Experience in vendor relations automation
- Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to exercise strict confidence in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and to observe, listen, motivate, and provide guidance.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage workload efficiently, and communicate when help is needed.
Work Schedule:
- Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm for 37.50hrs/wk.
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings and events.
