The MP&L Quality Analyst supports Ford's logistics quality strategy across vehicle logistics and material logistics, with project management and value stream mapping serving as core, defining skills for this role.
The Analyst is expected to independently manage improvement projects from initiation through closure and to lead value stream mapping activities that identify waste, bottlenecks, and root causes across the logistics network.
In addition, the Analyst supports quality monitoring, claims tracking, audits, and data analysis in partnership with regional MP&L teams, manufacturing plants, suppliers, carriers, dealers, and internal partners including Finance, Warranty, FCSD, and Ford Global Quality.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do ... Project Management & Value Stream Mapping (Core Function)- Independently manage quality and logistics improvement projects end-to-end, including project charters, scope definition, timelines, milestones, RACI assignments, risk logs, and stakeholder status updates.
- Lead or co-lead current-state and future-state value stream mapping workshops with cross-functional teams across vehicle and material logistics flows.
- Quantify waste, non-value-added steps, handoffs, cycle time, and inventory levels identified through VSM exercises.
- Translate VSM findings into prioritized, resourced improvement project plans with defined owners and timelines.
- Plan and facilitate kaizen events or rapid-improvement workshops tied to VSM outputs.
- Track project and VSM-driven initiatives through implementation, measuring and reporting benefits realization (cost, time, quality) to leadership.
- Maintain a project pipeline/tracker of quality and process improvement initiatives across regions.
MP&L Quality Support and Reporting- Support the implementation of global MP&L quality policies, procedures, and standards for vehicle and material logistics.
- Track and report on regional quality performance against established metrics, targets, and reporting cadences.
- Assist in maintaining the quality operating framework, including documentation of controls, escalation processes, and corrective actions.
- Compile data and prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for quality reviews and operating meetings.
- Support identification of best practices across regions (North America, South America, Europe, China, International Markets Group) for leadership consideration.
- Help prepare quality updates, risk summaries, and improvement recommendations for MP&L, Manufacturing, and Quality leadership.
Audits and Compliance- Assist with scheduling, conducting, and documenting carrier, supplier, terminal, port, yard, warehouse, and plant logistics quality audits.
- Review audit findings for compliance with Ford requirements, contractual obligations, and quality standards; flag gaps for follow-up.
- Support coordination with Internal Controls, Finance, Purchasing, and Legal on logistics quality and claims compliance activities.
- Maintain audit records, evidence documentation, and tracking logs for corrective action status.
Claims, Data, and Systems Support- Track and analyze transportation and logistics claims data, including trends in damage, delays, and recovery.
- Support data entry, validation, and reporting within inspection, claims, audit, and supplier-performance systems.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to apply automation, digital tools, or process improvements to claims and quality data workflows.
- Partner with IT and digital teams on testing, troubleshooting, and improving reporting and claims systems.
Customer Experience Support- Assist in gathering and organizing customer feedback (surveys, complaint data, dealer input) for analysis.
- Help track recurring delivery issues (damage, in-transit repairs, missing equipment, delays) and support root-cause and closure tracking.
- Support communication efforts with dealers and internal stakeholders regarding delivery issue status and resolution.
- Assist in preparing materials for dealer, fleet, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Continuous Improvement- Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts for recurring quality issues, leveraging value stream mapping to pinpoint root causes.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities with MP&L, Quality, Warranty, FCSD, carriers, and plant teams.
- Identify data trends and recommend process improvements to supervisors and project leads.
QualificationsYou'll have ...- Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through closure, including scope, timeline, and stakeholder management (coursework, internship, or professional experience accepted).
- Hands-on experience creating current-state and future-state value stream maps and translating findings into improvement actions.
- Associate's degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business, quality management, operations, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, claims, or related operations (internship/co-op experience considered).
- Basic knowledge of structured problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement methods.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under general supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally, as needed.
- Ability to participate in occasional meetings across global time zones.

- Formal Lean/Six Sigma training with an emphasis on value stream mapping methodology (e.g., Green Belt or higher).
- Experience or internship exposure to Ford MP&L, Manufacturing, Global Quality, Warranty, FCSD, or Purchasing.
- Familiarity with vehicle logistics (rail, car haul, ocean, yard, port, terminal) or material logistics (inbound transportation, packaging, warehousing, sequencing, line-side delivery).
- Exposure to transportation claims tracking or financial recovery processes.
- Familiarity with Ford quality and warranty systems, policies, or procedures.
- Working knowledge of tools such as QLS, Overhaul, Business Objects, SharePoint, Access

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from from $72,480-121,440.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
