Description

The PENTA Building Group is looking for a VDC Manager to own the planning and execution of VDC on assigned projects. This role leads VDC Engineers on projects, represents VDC in project-level conversations, and is accountable for delivery quality from project initiation through closeout. The right candidate brings solid construction knowledge, experience managing VDC deliverables independently, and the ability to direct the work of others not just execute it themselves.

A PENTA VDC Manager is also responsible for:

Pursuit
• Support the development of VDC content for project pursuits including VDC narratives, construction approach, visualization strategies and logistics concepts in coordination with preconstruction and marketing.
• Assist in preparing VDC content for interview presentations and coordinate the VDC portion of pursuit submittals.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors.

Preconstruction
• Develop the VDC Management Plan for assigned projects from project award through completion.
• Define the model coordination process for assigned projects including subcontractor model requirements, coordination meeting cadence, issue tracking protocol, and deliverable schedule.
• Lead design review and constructability analysis sessions using design drawings and project models.
• Coordinate with the preconstruction team on quantity tracking and cost support where required.
• Assign and direct VDC Engineers on preconstruction deliverables.
• Direct existing conditions documentation including reality capture, as-built review and site verification at project initiation.

Construction
• Own VDC delivery quality on assigned projects across all active workflows including visualization, model coordination, design review, reality capture and field technology.
• Lead model coordination meetings on assigned projects, managing issue logs and trade partner commitments.
• Represent VDC in project-level conversations with project managers, superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, and design teams.
• Direct VDC Engineers on assigned projects by setting clear task expectations, reviewing output, and giving direct feedback.
• Support technology adoption on assigned projects, including training field staff on technology workflows and participating in department-wide technology initiatives.
• Coordinate reality capture operations across the portfolio using laser scanning and aerial drones.
• Support RFI resolution using model and coordination data.
• Communicate proactively with the Sr VDC Manager on project status, emerging issues, and anything that could affect delivery quality or timeline.

Closeout
• Lead the preparation of as-built model documentation on assigned projects per contract requirements and PENTA standards.
• Coordinate final reality capture for record documentation and confirm all outputs meet deliverables requirements before handover.
• Manage the handover of VDC deliverables to the owner or facilities team.
• Conduct a VDC lesson learned review at project closeout and contribute findings to department-wide standards improvement.

VDC Initiatives
• Contribute to VDC learning and development initiatives across PENTA including supporting training content development and delivering sessions in areas of expertise.
• Identifying opportunities to apply innovative technology solutions and improve VDC workflows on assigned projects.
• Advance VDC marketing and branding efforts by contributing to pursuit content, project narratives, and client-facing materials.

Required Qualifications
• Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in design and construction, with demonstrated experience managing VDC deliverables independently across multiple project phases.
• Demonstrated ability to direct the work of others, give specific feedback, and hold team members accountable to a delivery standard.
• Strong understanding of construction project delivery methods and how VDC supports preconstruction, coordination, field operations, and closeout.
• Demonstrated ability to represent VDC independently in project-level conversations with operations, design teams, and trade contractors.
• OHSA 10 or 30 Certification is a plus

Preferred Qualifications
• BIM or VDC industry certification
• Experience leading model coordination meetings and managing trade partner relationships on active construction projects.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Build, Navisworks, ACC Model Coordination, Revit, Lumion or TwinMotion, Leica RTC 360, DroneDeploy, and Trimble field layout tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, practices, and procedures across all project phases.
• Ability to direct a project team by setting clear expectations, giving direct feedback, and building capability in VDC Engineers.
• Clear, audience-appropriate communication, both written and verbal with project teams, trade contractors, and design partners.
• Structured approach to identifying problems, evaluating solutions, and resolving coordination issues before they affect the project team.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across assigned projects without compromising delivery quality.
• Proactive, solutions-based approach.
• Commitment to applying VDC standards consistently and building technical depth across all project phases.
• Adaptability to evolving technology, changing project demands, and organizational growth.
• Local jobsite travel required. Periodic overnight travel to regional locations my be required
• Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to access and navigate offices and jobsites.
• Salary Range DOE $90,000 - $110,000

The PENTA Building Group maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
