The Valve Sales Support Engineer plays a critical role in delivering technically sound and commercially competitive valve solutions that meet customer requirements. This position supports both sales and manufacturing operations by developing engineered product designs, generating technical quotations, and ensuring product compliance with applicable industry standards. Working closely with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams, the engineer contributes to product innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction while driving continuous improvement across engineering processes.
As a Valve Sales Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Designing specialized valve products to meet customer specifications and application requirements.
Providing technical information within CPQ, ERP, CAD, PDM, and other business systems to support product sales and manufacturing.
Performing stress calculations and finite element analysis to validate product performance and design integrity.
Ensuring technical accuracy of engineering procedures, drawings, installation instructions, product descriptions, and product structures.
Developing product quotations, including pricing, lead times, and cost calculations as required.
Communicating technical specifications and engineering solutions with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Investigating tooling availability for special product manufacturing and providing cost estimates for new tooling requirements.
Supporting manufacturing teams by resolving technical challenges and ensuring smooth product execution.
Identifying opportunities for engineering process improvements and implementing efficiency-driven solutions.
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineered solutions aligned with customer expectations and business objectives.
Supporting additional engineering and technical activities based on business needs and project requirements.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Have experience in mechanical product design, engineering calculations, and technical sales support.
Have knowledge of valve products, manufacturing processes, and engineered solutions.
Have experience performing stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
Have the ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
Have strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
Have advanced mathematical and engineering calculation capabilities.
Have knowledge of applicable engineering standards, codes, and certification requirements.
Have experience working with CPQ, ERP, CAD, PDM, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office applications.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Have the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Have a customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong professional relationships and provide effective technical solutions.
Have a proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement, and adapt to evolving business needs.
