About this role:The Value Stream Manager (VSM Leader) owns a complete value stream within a Carrier manufacturing facility. This role is accountable for the safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance of the value stream from raw material to finished goods, leading production and supervisory teams while driving daily management and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Owns end-to-end performance of the assigned value stream, delivering EH&S, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost targets.
- Leads, coaches, and develops production supervisors and front-line teams; manages and evolves the staffing and skills plan for the operation.
- Drives value stream mapping and Lean initiatives (standard work, SMED, pull systems, kaizen) to eliminate waste and improve flow.
- Owns daily management (tiered accountability meetings, SQDC boards) and rapid problem-solving on the floor.
- Partners with Materials, Quality and Engineering on production planning, line balancing and new product introduction.
- Manages productivity, OEE, labor efficiency and adherence-to-plan for the value stream.
- Leads root-cause problem-solving (8D) and drives sustainable corrective actions.
- Champions a culture of safety, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree.
- 7+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years directly leading production and front-line supervisory teams.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven end-to-end ownership of a value stream or production area against Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) targets.
- Strong, hands-on command of Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, standard work, SMED, pull systems, kaizen) with demonstrated results.
- Experience leading structured problem-solving (8D, root-cause analysis) and sustaining corrective actions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage productivity, OEE, labor efficiency and adherence-to-plan across multiple shifts.
- Knowledge or experience with HVAC systems
- People-leadership experience developing supervisors and managing 50+ direct/indirect reports.
- Experience in complex or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
- Experience managing multi-shift operations and 50+ direct/indirect reports.
Pay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $174,500.00 - $348,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position is entitled to both short and long-term incentives, subject to plan requirements.
