Job Description:

Caterpillar's EMD division is hiring for Value Chain Designer in Peoria, IL!

Role Summary: In this role, you will lead the global work tool strategy and availability efforts for Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL), while also championing product group solutions workstreams. You will partner closely with commercial teams to align portfolios, develop availability and lead-time strategies, and analyze take rates to rationalize configurations and offerings.

You will also serve as the product-facing lead for technology solutions, supporting product offering readiness for dealers and customers, creating communication and learning materials, and driving customer adoption & utilization of MWL application-specific solutions. You will also play a key role in supporting value chain performance by helping to optimize processes and model current versus future-state networks.

What You'll Do (Job Duties)

  • Manage execution of Onboard and Offboard technology solutions by partnering with engineering and commercial teams to support dealer and customer readiness.


  • Serve as the key solutions interface between Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL) and commercial teams.


  • Partner with supply chain, logistics, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver the work tools strategy.


  • Develop business cases and capability studies, recommending improvements for solutions and the work tools portfolio.


  • Identify process inefficiencies and waste related to time, cost, materials, and energy.


  • Implement new and improved processes and tools, governing changes across workstreams to maintain alignment.


What You Have (Core Skills)

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, manufacturing or related field.


  • Business Process Design: Knowledge of business process design; ability to develop appropriate techniques to re-examine key processes and focus on optimizing organizational performance.


  • Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.


  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.


  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.


  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.


  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

  • Experience in commercial, sales & operations planning, supply chain, operations, or manufacturing.


  • Knowledge of Medium Wheel Loader Work Tools and Applications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, manufacturing or related field.


  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data tools and performance metrics.


  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.


  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
