In the assigned Job Role of Engineering Consultant 3, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:
• Run stakeholder workshops and interviews to capture critical system and technical specifications
• Contribute in design alternatives evaluation using advanced engineering tools, to achieve consensus on optimal approaches and create detailed design concepts for components and/ or systems.
• Leverage feedback from testing and user interactions, to develop and assess prototypes in ensure alignment with project goals
• Develop specialized solution specifications for engineering projects and run advanced testing to ensure solutions meet technical and performance requirements
• Execute prototyping efforts, applying expertise to model design concepts, and lead testing and feedback synthesis to refine prototypes
• Run integration projects, solving complex technical challenges and enhance system functionality, through usage of engineering tools and methodologies
• Optimize system performance through targeted tuning, improving efficiency and addressing reliability concerns
• Facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions, ensuring thorough understanding of engineering outcomes across teams

Required Skill and Experience

Role Overview
This role requires a senior utility professional with extensive experience in electric transmission and distribution operations and deep familiarity with GE ETERRA GMS and EMS platforms used in live control center environments.
The position focuses on helping utilities overcome fragmented operational visibility by aligning control room realities, operational data, and emerging AI capabilities. The successful candidate understands how operators actually run the grid-under normal conditions and during high stress events-and can translate those needs into practical data, integration, and analytics strategies that support better operational decisions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
experience supporting electric utility operations, control centers, or grid technology programs.
Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Pomona, CA or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.
Understanding of transmission and distribution operations, including switching, outage response, restoration, equipment loading, and voltage management.
Hands on experience with GE ETERRA GMS and/or EMS in production utility environments.
• Experience working across OT and IT systems such as EMS, SCADA, DMS/ADMS, OMS, GIS, AMI, asset management, historians, DER platforms, or market systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operators, engineers, IT/OT teams, and leadership stakeholders.

Preferred Skill and Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting grid modernization or control center transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with renewable integration challenges, contingency analysis, state estimation, or grid reliability analysis.
• Exposure to AI platforms, advanced analytics, edge computing, or digital grid initiatives within utility environments.
• Knowledge of utility cybersecurity and secure operational data sharing practices.

Additional Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
