Job Description: The User Experience (UX) Architect will support the Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise (NRRE) by analyzing software workflows, designing intuitive user interfaces, and developing effective software solutions for Windows-based web applications. This role requires strong experience in user research, UI prototyping, and applying user-centered design principles. The UX Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create seamless, high-quality user experiences. A bachelor's degree, at least five years of UX-related experience, proficiency with UX tools (Adobe XD highly desired), a strong portfolio, and an active Secret clearance are required.
Responsibilities include:- Analyzing software application workflows to identify usability challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Planning and designing effective software solutions that align with user needs and mission objectives.
- Creating intuitive, user centered interface designs for Windows based web applications.
- Conducting user research and translating findings into actionable design requirements.
- Developing and testing user interface mockups, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Applying user-centered design and cognitive interface principles to all aspects of solution development.
- Collaborating with developers, product owners, and other cross functional team members to ensure seamless integration of UX designs.
- Preparing documentation, design specifications, and artifacts that support development and stakeholder understanding.
- Ensuring design consistency, usability, and accessibility across all application features.
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts by evaluating emerging UX trends, tools, and technologies
Here's what you need:- UX Experience (Workflow Analysis, User Research, Interface Design, Prototyping.
- Proficiency with Windows based web application tools and UX design software (Figma preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software application analysis, planning, and design.
- At least 3 years of specialized experience in analyzing application workflows, planning software solutions, and designing/developing complex software products.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting user research, interpreting user input, developing application structures and flows, and creating/testing UI mock-ups and prototypes.
- Proficiency with key software components and tools used in Windows-based web applications.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with UX design tools; experience with Adobe XD and Creative Cloud is highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Portfolio demonstrating practical experience and design capabilities.
Bonus Points If You Have:- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Human Computer Interaction, UX Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or Cognitive Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience applying advanced user-centered and cognitive interface design principles to complex software solutions.
- Experience designing for Department of Defense or other government systems and familiarity with related usability standards.
- Proficiency with Adobe XD, Creative Cloud, and other modern UX/UI design tools and prototyping platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices for designing compliant interfaces.
- Ability to evaluate and incorporate emerging UX trends, technologies, and methodologies.
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex UX design work, including research artifacts, workflow analysis, high fidelity prototypes, and final interface designs.
Security Clearance:- Interim or Active DOD Secret
Education:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or User Experience Design.
Compensation and Benefits:The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000-145,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
