USBU Digital Product Manager Data, Digital & Technology Takeda Pharmaceutical Cambridge, MA

About the role:

The USBU Digital Product Manager, Associate Director, leads product initiatives across Takeda's U.S. Business Unit (USBU). This role is focused on customer needs, strategic product roadmap development, and go-to-market planning to ensure Salesforce CRM products support business priorities and advance Takeda's mission.

You will work closely with DD&T's Product Lead and business stakeholders to understand their strategic imperatives and translate them into integrated product roadmaps that define how DD&T can enable their functional strategies. You will lead product initiatives within the Takeda portfolio and may lead multiple product owners in an effort to promote a unified vision. You will partner with USBU Patient Services, Access and Medical teams to shape and deliver the broader Data, Digital & Technology strategy and agenda.

This role sits within the OBU & USBU DD&T organization and reports to the Head of Patient Services, Access & Medical Capabilities, USBU & OBU Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T).

How you will contribute:

  • Lead the strategy, design, development, and launch of complex Salesforce Life Sciences CRM products, including hybrid hub and vendor-supported workflows.


  • Translate USBU business strategy into digital product roadmaps and solutions that align with DD&T priorities, enterprise architecture, data standards, and operating model expectations.


  • Develop and maintain the product vision, roadmap, priorities, scope, requirements, features, acceptance criteria, expected outcomes, and value measures in partnership with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and cross-functional DD&T teams.


  • Support product prioritization and planning discussions with business and technology stakeholders, helping evaluate trade-offs, dependencies, risks, delivery timelines, and business impact.


  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding product priorities, timelines, delivery constraints, decisions, and value realization.


  • Lead and guide a team of Product Owners to ensure work is coordinated, usable, and aligned to shared product, platform, and business objectives.


  • Foster a strong product culture grounded in customer-centric thinking, transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


  • Act as the content authority for product features and support Agile Release Train activities, including planning, delivery alignment, system demos, and inspect-and-adapt discussions.


  • Proactively understand the short- and long-term business and technology needs of Patient Services, Market Access and Medical teams, and help shape DD&T priorities accordingly.


  • Identify high-priority and critical issues, assess customer and business impact, and partner with cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions.


  • Define KPIs and value measures to track product adoption, performance, business outcomes, and DD&T impact.


  • Partner across technology, data, analytics, architecture, platform, and business teams to deliver measurable value and ensure adherence to governance, architecture, data, and delivery standards.


  • Collaborate with OBU and USBU business, product, and access partners to identify portfolio synergies, shared Salesforce platform opportunities, and ways to reduce duplication and improve scalability.


  • Explore internal and external trends, emerging technologies, and innovation opportunities to support high-value digital and data proof-of-concepts and strategic use cases.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field. Advance degrees preferred.


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management or a related field within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.


  • Proven leadership experience managing globally distributed teams, working effectively in a complex matrix environment, and collaborating with senior leadership.


  • Experience executing projects using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, with hands-on experience using Jira requiring minimal guidance.


  • Advanced understanding of digital patient and access platforms, including Salesforce Health Cloud or Salesforce Life Sciences solutions.


  • Advanced understanding of Salesforce objects and the ability to automate routine and moderately complex tasks with minimal guidance.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, key stakeholders, and end users.


  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, including the ability to align digital product development with business priorities and communicate that strategy clearly.


  • Experience working within the U.S. pharmaceutical market, including understanding manufacturer relationships with hubs, specialty pharmacies, and specialty distributors.


  • Travel up to 15%; international and domestic.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
