POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the technical and administrative activities required to provide reliable and progressive information systems solutions to FDLE's BSE Law Enforcement Section. This includes effective customer relations, production services and support activities, major development projects and business management of all resources available to support the section. Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work. This position has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. Refer to agency policy as these types of personnel actions will require final approval from Command Staff up to Senior Executive level in your Chain of Command.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:
  • Supervising personnel assigned to support the section;
  • Consulting with customers and conducting assessments in order to determine user needs and to define system requirements;
  • Providing consulting both internally and externally to FDLE and other government agencies;
  • Assisting in the development of strategic and tactical information resource management plans;
  • Planning accurately to reflect the needs of the program to ensure they are consistent with FDLE standards;
  • Presenting findings and recommendations in a professional manner that is both relevant for information systems staff and meaningful for end-users;
  • Keeping supervisor informed of any significant (actual or potential) delay of service or any inability to accommodate a customer's request within a reasonable timeframe; and
  • Completing assignments in a timely and professional manner.


To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures;

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
