Our Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) team offers services to enhance the operational efficiency of tax functions and the delivery of technical services, supported by a team of over 1,200 professionals. Our core focus areas include transforming tax functions, integrating with finance and business processes, and optimizing enterprise systems, all bolstered by strategic alliances. We aim to revolutionize tax and finance operations through strategy development, digitalization, and leveraging technology to automate compliance, reporting, and provide valuable insights to our clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Analyst within the Tax Technology & Transformation Data Team, you'll work alongside tax, technology, and data professionals to leverage analytics, AI, and cloud technologies to transform tax operations. You'll gain hands-on experience with enterprise data platforms, business intelligence tools, and real-world client engagements while helping deliver innovative business solutions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
  • Documenting business requirements, data definitions, process flows, and technical specifications.
  • Supporting data collection, cleansing, validation, and transformation activities across multiple tax and finance data sources.
  • Working with structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, data quality issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Helping design and implement data pipelines and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Assisting with data migration and integration activities involving ERP, finance, and tax systems.
  • Performing data profiling, reconciliation, and quality analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Supporting AI and advanced analytics initiatives, including machine learning and generative AI use cases.
  • Assisting in the development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence tools to support decision-making.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including tax professionals, data engineers, solution architects, and business stakeholders.
  • Researching emerging technologies and industry trends related to Data & Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, Databricks, and AI.
  • Preparing client-ready deliverables, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Taking ownership of assigned workstreams and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.


Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have:
  • A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or a related field; supported by a strong academic record.
  • 3.0 cumulative college/university GPA.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis concepts.
  • Data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Database querying and data manipulation
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Interest in cloud data platforms and enterprise technology solutions.
  • An interest working in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • You must reside within a commutable distance of the office location associated with this position.

Ideally, you will have:
  • Cumulative college/university GPA of 3.2 or above
  • Experience using Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, or related technologies.
  • Understanding AI, machine learning, or generative AI concepts.
  • Experience working on academic, internship, or research projects involving large datasets.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $78,000 - $94,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
