Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software development lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring technical excellence through design reviews and mentorship. Collaborating across teams, you will translate complex user needs into actionable solutions, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement. About the team:
The Marketplace Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech pioneers innovation in global commerce through the Walmart Marketplace platform. This team builds advanced tools that enable sellers to efficiently manage digital storefronts, pricing, and inventory while delivering excellent customer experiences. They design intelligent, resilient systems spanning the entire seller lifecycle and integrate with partner platforms across Walmart's ecosystem. Emphasizing scalable, data-driven solutions, the team leverages expertise in software design, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps to provide reliable services that empower sellers and enhance shopping experiences for millions worldwide.
What you'll do:

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, or C++.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
  • Skilled in DevOps engineering and infrastructure tooling to enhance engineering productivity and developer experience.
  • Experience applying data-driven decision making to define success metrics and optimize development processes.
  • Ability to conduct design reviews and remedial actions to maintain high-quality deliverables.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
