What you'll do...
Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to translate complex requirements into effective solutions. A focus on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement is essential to support Walmart's commitment to operational excellence and customer value.

  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and intelligent automation features.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
