Position Summary...What you'll do...Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to translate complex requirements into effective solutions. - Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and intelligent automation features.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
- Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and data-driven practices.
What you'll bring: - Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and applying design patterns for secure, maintainable, and modular solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI/ML components and generative AI agents into software products.
- Skilled in DevOps engineering and infrastructure tooling to enhance developer productivity and platform capabilities.
- Effective mentorship and leadership skills to guide engineers and influence technical decisions.
- Data-driven approach to problem definition, metrics tracking, and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
