About the team: The Sam's Club Merchandising team develops and scales advanced item and assortment management capabilities across retail platforms. The team focuses on automation, data quality, and streamlined supplier and operational workflows. It leads the evolution of item lifecycle management through AI-driven processes, enhancing item setup, classification, and governance. By strengthening data foundations and expanding synchronization with partners, the team improves taxonomy and attribute management. It also advances assortment planning, supplier experience, and product content management. Continuous innovation using automation and AI drives efficient, scalable solutions supporting critical supply chain and operational needs.
What you'll do: - Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to design high-level solutions for small to medium projects.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and developing effective action plans.
- Translate project requirements into technical solutions, write code, and conduct unit testing to ensure quality delivery.
- Support business users by providing technical guidance and resolving implementation challenges.
- Lead and mentor small engineering teams, including offshore associates, to meet project goals.
- Develop automation scripts for CI/CD and implement telemetry features to enhance system monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to security policies and coding standards throughout development.
What you'll bring: - Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Strong technical acumen with experience in API design, platform development, and component services.
- Demonstrated ability in iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, and delivery practices.
- Proficiency in debugging, problem solving, and delivering scoped features or models.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, defect management, and automation tools.
- Ability to lead small engineering groups and provide technical guidance.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies including generative artificial intelligence.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
