About the team:
The Applied AI Search & Personalization team develops advanced machine learning systems to enhance product discovery and deliver tailored shopping experiences. Focusing on query understanding, retrieval, ranking, recommendations, personalization, and Generative AI, the team integrates cutting-edge AI research with scalable production engineering. Their work drives significant improvements in customer engagement, conversion rates, and business growth on a global scale. Team members apply expertise in data science, predictive modeling, and large language models to solve complex challenges, contributing to innovative solutions that support Walmart's commitment to delivering value and excellence in customer experience.
What you'll do:
  • Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
  • Evaluate and validate model performance, applying best practices for tuning and robustness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
  • Create clear and effective data visualizations to communicate findings and influence decision-making.
  • Mentor junior team members on analytical methods, coding standards, and business context.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling with proficiency in Python and PySpark.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods, model assessment, validation techniques, and advanced analytical modeling.
  • Expertise in data source identification, data quality evaluation, and data strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, and scale analytical models in production environments.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of business context and ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
