Position Summary...
Walmart is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions. This role involves analyzing complex requirements, driving architectural decisions, and guiding teams through the full software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will champion innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with business objectives. Collaboration across functions and mentorship of engineering talent are key components of this position, which supports Walmart's commitment to advancing technology and delivering exceptional value to customers.

What you'll do...
  • Analyze and scope requirements to align with business objectives, prioritizing features to deliver minimum viable products.
  • Design scalable, modular software architectures ensuring reliability, security, and performance across distributed systems.
  • Develop maintainable, testable code adhering to coding standards and optimize application functionality and security.
  • Lead testing strategies, including automation and root cause analysis, to ensure comprehensive coverage and defect resolution.
  • Oversee continuous integration and deployment processes, monitoring program metrics to maintain system health and performance.
  • Mentor teams, promote innovation, and guide technology assessments to enhance platform design and development.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $338,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
