Job Summary and Qualifications

The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO)of Urgent Care for the American Group will assist the CMO in serving as the key physician contact on all matters involving provider quality, patient safety, occupational medicine and provider performance issues. Additionally, the position will provide specialized focus to identify and develop a physician leadership network in order to move the clinical agenda forward and gain trust and collaboration from providers in Urgent Care Service Line facilities.

Success in this position is measured by innovative and heightened quality metrics and outcomes, maximizing and achieving governmental requirements, and collaborative and productive relationships with many HCA lines of business and executives including but not limited to the Physician Services Group, Clinical Services Group, IT&S, hospital/division operations and internal Urgent Care Service Line executives.

What you will do for this role:

  • Builds and manages the provider infrastructure for the Urgent Care Service Line in support of a rapidly expanding line of business within HCA and in an industry experiencing both significant growth and consolidation.
  • Serve as spokesperson for President/CEO/CMO at designated meetings and represent views and strategy of Urgent Care Service Line in all settings.
  • Lead and guide the team to achieve strategic and tactical goals in quality, government programs and EMR.
  • Serve as primary physician consultant for operational issues related to quality, provider outcomes, new medical technologies related to Urgent Care Service Line facilities.
  • Develop and manage excellent relationships with HCA and Urgent Care Service Line core constituents.
  • Collaborates with the Physician Services Group leadership and the Urgent Care senior team leadership in the development of long and short- range urgent care strategic plans and objectives.
  • Develops a culture and provider structure that improves the patient experience focusing on customer satisfaction, convenience, efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Builds strategic alliances outside the organization to create business opportunities and execute business strategies.
  • Identifies and reports undesirable trends and potential business opportunities. Recommends and effectuates needed action plans.
  • In conjunction with Director of Occupational Services develops a strong occupational medicine program for HCA Urgent Care Clinics based upon best practices and evidence based medicine that includes a robust training program for market Medical Directors and physicians. Ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Ensures the timely production and submission of all operational financial data required by HCA and the Physician Services Group.
  • Ensures Business Continuity by preparing for unexpected disruptions in operations including weather-related events, resource shortages or other factors limiting the provision of services.
  • Understands and evaluates the changing impact of regulatory climate including Health Care Reform legislation and HIPAA, as it pertains to the urgent care sector.
  • Builds a competitively superior organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent to ensure that providers with the right skills and motivations are in the right places at the right time to meet business needs.
  • Clearly communicates HCA and CareNow Mission and Values
  • Builds strong provider engagement and improves provider retention
  • Ensures synergies among people, process, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives.
  • Develops an organizational culture that leads to ongoing excellence and effective growth of the business while maintaining the highest integrity.


Education:

  • Active license as M.D. or D.O. required
  • Master's Degree required


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice required
  • Previous role as Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director or other similar position within progressive, complex health care system or urgent care setting preferred.
  • Must possess at least 5 years' experience providing medical oversite of an occupational medicine program
