Reports to: Systems Director

Job Summary

The Unit Director is responsible for the overall leadership and operational success of Patient Transportation and Constant Observation services across multiple hospital sites. This role oversees supervisors, financial performance, client relationships, and service quality to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Patient Transport and Constant Observation programs across multiple facilities
  • Manage department finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring accuracy of financial data
  • Lead, develop, and support supervisors and frontline staff to drive performance, productivity, and engagement
  • Coordinate transportation and patient observation services with hospital departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Establish and maintain department policies, procedures, workflows, and performance standards
  • Monitor and improve service quality, patient satisfaction, and operational outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Maintain required records, reports, and performance metrics
  • Utilize systems such as TeamChimes, TeamTransport, and related platforms effectively
  • Act as a key client partner, demonstrating strong communication and relationship management skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Prior experience in patient transportation and/or constant observation services preferred
  • Multi-site leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing teams in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to analyze data
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with flexibility as needed
