As a professional in Financial Lines at The Hartford, your primary role will be to underwrite and actively pursue new business, servicing the needs of our brokerage partners on an account by account basis. The Underwriting Director will serve as a key member of Hartford Financial Lines local region, reporting directly to a Managing Director on the Diversified/Financial Services Team. The Diversified/Financial Services Team focuses on management and professional liability products for public and large private financial services institutions. This Underwriting Director role will be focused on the New York City region. Products include primary and excess directors & officers liability, errors & omissions liability, fiduciary liability and employment practices liability.

Qualifications:- Bachelors Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 7+ years of Financial Institutions Management Liability and Professional Liability underwriting experience
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions.
- High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit
- Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills
- Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes
- Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win

Location:This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the New York, NY office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$136,800 - $258,000
The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
