Asset Based Lending - Underwriter

Position Overview

The Asset Based Lending Senior Underwriter is a critical member of the Asset Based Lending Group, playing an integral role in advancing the strategic vision of Texas Capital Bank. This position directly supports the Asset Based Lending line of business, with full ownership of the underwriting process. Working in close partnership with Analysts, Associates, and Relationship Managers, the Senior Underwriter evaluates potential risks, identifies cross-sell opportunities, and leads deals from opportunity through close with minimal oversight. This individual serves as the primary architect of complex ABL revolving and term credit facilities, while acting as an internal consultant and liaison between Credit and the Line of Business to ensure a best-in-class client experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end due diligence process for new asset based loans, including internal credit approval, coordination of field exams and appraisals, and negotiation of legal documentation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in ABL credit policies, procedures, and loan documentation - providing specialized expertise in structuring facilities that align with institutional requirements and sound risk management practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive, high-quality credit approval packages that clearly articulate credit risks, mitigants, and transaction rationale.
  • Conduct detailed financial and collateral analysis, including review of borrower financial statements, borrowing base calculations, and cash flow projections.
  • Perform risk rating assessments, financial statement spreading, and preparation of financial models.
  • Monitor and analyze macroeconomic conditions, industry trends, and evolving lending practices to inform credit decisions.
  • Proactively identify and support cross-sell opportunities in collaboration with Relationship Managers.
  • Lead and contribute to key initiatives that enhance the delivery of credit solutions for clients and prospects.
