Full Job Description
U.S. Risk Management has an exciting opportunity to join the East Zone underwriting team. You will report to the Head of Central, Primary Casualty. What you'll be doing
  • Produce, underwrite, manage and service a profitable book of new and renewal business per AXA XL underwriting guidelines.
  • Underwriter conducts risk review and analysis. Also, determines terms & conditions and appropriate pricing in accordance with granted authority and AXA XL underwriting guidelines.
  • Underwriter effectively negotiates and secures policy terms that align with AXA XL directives.
  • Underwriter cultivates key broker relationships in the region to maintain a steady stream of business within our underwriting appetite.
  • Underwriter cultivates effective business relationship with accounts, providing risk stewardship including initial setup of service commitments and ongoing consultation. Completes all required steps on account setup, documentation, and account management. Partners with internal service providers to build long-term relationships between customers/brokers and AXA XL, managing expectations of all parties.
  • Underwriter cross-markets with other AXA XL lines; meets with brokers and insureds as required.
  • Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and targets within his/her portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross marketing penetration and specific plans to increase company share.

  • Moderate to extensive underwriting large risk management accounts with focus on high deductible, self-insured retentions, captives, group captives, bundled and unbundled claims.
  • Knowledge of workers compensation, general liability and automobile lines of business.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and producers.
  • You should possess robust analytical and problem-solving skills as well as robust sales and marketing abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and presentation skills.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD (107,600-199,100). Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.
