Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underwriter to join our Energy Casualty team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding Starr Insurance's reach throughout the Southeast, with a specific emphasis on Southeast producers. This role requires a deep understanding of casualty lines of coverage and a strong background in energy underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio, focusing on strategic growth and market penetration.
  • Cultivate relationships with key Southeast producers to drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Conduct thorough underwriting analysis to assess risks and determine appropriate coverage terms.
  • Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders with precision and attention to detail.
  • Monitor and manage the new business pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.
  • Actively solicit submissions from brokers and clients, demonstrating a proactive approach to business development.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and strategies to enhance the competitiveness of our Energy Casualty offerings.
