What we are hiring:
We are seeking a talented and security-cleared UI/UX Designer to join our mission-focused team. The systems you build will directly support national security, tactical operations, and critical decision-making for our government customers.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex government data and intuitive, human-centered software. Working directly within secure government facilities, you will collaborate face-to-face with developers, product owners, and end-users to drive the visual direction of our applications.
As the core designer for these systems, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Wireframing & Low-Fidelity Mockups: Distilling complex, secure workflows into clean, structural layouts that allow for rapid iteration and alignment among stakeholders.
- High-Fidelity Mockups: Crafting detailed, interactive mockups that bring clarity to highly technical government data and serve as a clear blueprint for developers.
- Collaborative Design: Transforming feedback from analysts and operators into elegant, secure, and highly functional interfaces.
Required Technical Skills (MUST HAVES):
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience
- Experience working onsite with DoD and/or IC customers
- Strong ability to design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web applications
- Strong ability to drive overall visual design, layout, and composition of web applications
- Experience working with end-users to identify their needs, articulate challenges, and propose user-centric solutions
- Familiarity collaborating with full-stack development teams in agile workflows
- A portfolio or experience of recent design projects that demonstrates your skills in wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual design (if you have been onsite working on proprietary cleared projects - we do understand that you may not have recent visibility into your projects)
- Experience with at least one of the following Design Tools: Figma (most important for this program), Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools - and/or willingness to learn new tools
Preferred Technical Skills (NICE TO HAVES):
- Experience meeting with application stakeholders directly
- Experience developing User Personas, User Studies, and Information Architecture
- Proficient with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
- Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue - understand how they work but do not have to have extensive experience coding in them
- Familiarity with accessibility requirements and best practices
- Prior work in environments with strict accreditation and security requirements
